Qualifications

  • Current driver’s license in good standing.
  • Commercial driver’s license (CDL) required.
  • Read/write/speak/understand English for safety and patient care.
  • TST verification as required by state law and company policy.
  • CPR certification.
  • CNA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operates the service location’s vehicles in a safe manner when transporting patients, residents, members, and/or employees.
  • Assists patients, residents, members and/or employees when boarding and disembarking the vehicles.
  • Ascertain safe arrival to the destination.
  • Maintains route and mileage logs per Company policy.
  • Monitors vehicle safety conditions including fuel and fluids per Company policy.
  • Reports any vehicle problems or maintenance needs to the Administrator.
  • Ensures passengers follow safety procedures, including fastening seat belts, before moving the vehicle.
  • Interacts positively with patients, residents, members, families, visitors and the public as a representative of the location.
  • Schedules vehicles for routine maintenance as needed.
  • Schedules and moves appointments.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Transportation Driver
POSITION SUMMARY:

Safely transport patients, residents, members, and/or employees to and from the service location during approved activities during approved activities to pre-determined destinations.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • 1.Operates the service location’s vehicles in a safe manner when transporting patients, residents, members, and/or employees;
  • 2.Assists patients, residents, members and/or employees when boarding and disembarking the vehicles;
  • 3.Ascertains safe arrival to the destination;
  • 4.Maintains route and mileage logs in accordance with Company policy;
  • 5.Monitors routine vehicle safety conditions including fuel and vital fluid levels in accordance with Company policy;
  • 6.Reports any vehicle problems or maintenance needs to the Administrator immediately;
  • 7.Makes certain that all vehicle passengers follow safety procedures, including fastening seat belts, prior to moving the van;
  • 8.Interacts in a positive manner with patients, residents, members and families as a representative of the service location;
  • 9.Scheduled vehicles for routine maintenance as needed
  • 10.Scheduling and moving appointments
  • 11.Performs other duties as requested.
SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • 1.Current driver’s license in good standing.
  • 2.Commercial driver’s license (if required).
  • 3.This position requires that the employee is able to read, write, speak and understand the spoken English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients and visitors at the work site when responding to their medical and physical needs.
  • 4.Must provide verification of TST (tuberculin skin test) as required by state law and in accordance with Company policy. TSTs will be administered at the work site if required.
  • 5.CPR Certified.
  • 6.CNA Preferred
