Job summary

Marklund Day School in Geneva, IL seeks Transportation Paraprofessionals to support students with profound disabilities. The role involves assisting teachers, supervising and transporting students, and contributing to a safe, engaging learning environment.

Hours are 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM, Mon-Fri. Pay ranges up to $23.50/hr with experience; required Illinois Paraprofessional Educator license and DMV Bus Licensure within 90 days; bachelor’s degree not required.

Qualifications

• Illinois Paraprofessional Educator license required; $500 bonus for obtaining it.
• High school diploma or GED required; license obtainable after hire within 30 days.
• Must obtain Illinois DMV Bus Driver Licensure (NonCDL) within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with classwork and daily care of students with special needs.
• Drive students, faculty and staff to community outing sites.
• Follow daily outing calendar and travel between sites as needed.
• Provide direct care and participate in trainings and educational functions.
• Document goals and daily participation after completing tasks with a student.
• Work one-on-one and in groups per the IEPs.

We are seeking exceptionalTeacher's Assistants, TA,Paraprofessionalsfor ouryear-roundday schoollocated in Geneva, IL.Hours are 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday-Friday.

Our hourly rate for Life Skills is $20.00 with no experience, $21.00with 2 years of Paraprofessional experience and up to $22.50 with 5years or more of Paraprofessional experience.

With a Bachelor's Degree our hourly rate for Life Skills is $21.00with no experience, $22.00 with 2 years of Paraprofessional experienceand up to $23.50 with 5 years or more of Paraprofessional experience.

About our school:

Marklund Day School is a non-public state-certified school thatpartners with area school districts to provide a highly specializededucation experience. The therapeutic, sensory-driven Multi-NeedsProgram serves individuals ages 3 through 21 with medical,developmental, and physical disabilities. Through the Life SkillsProgram, teachers and paraprofessionals provide individualizedfunctional curriculum and supports for students who are diagnosed onthe Autism Spectrum, specific learning disabilities, and developmental disabilities.

Summary of Duties:

• Assist teachers with classwork and the daily care of students withspecial needs


• Drive students, faculty and staff to and from community outing sites


• Follow daily outing calendar and travel between sites as needed


• Provide direct care, attend In-services and other educationalfunctions as required.


• Keeps equipment in classroom in clean condition and provides safephysical environment for all students.


• Documents all goals/program which includes the daily participationrecords after completion of a task with a student


• Works directly with the students one-on-one and in groups outlinedin the IEP’s


• Must successfully pass PCM (behavior management) training.

Experience and Skills

Qualifications:

• Illinois Paraprofessional Educator license is required. It can beobtained after being hired within 30 days, and we will offer a $500bonus for getting it. To obtain license candidates must have atleast a high school diploma or GED.


• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and tomeet its functional and environmental requirements


• Must be able to obtain an Illinois DMV Bus Driver Licensure (NonCDL) within 90 days of hire.
