Job summary

Marklund is seeking dedicated Caregivers in Elgin, IL to support residents with profound disabilities. We offer paid on-site training, flexible full-time, part-time and on-call shifts, with a starting base rate of $18/hr plus $1 night differential and $1 weekend differential.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Caregiver experience helpful, but not required; paid on-site training for Direct Support Professional certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day program activities to help residents achieve daily goals.
• Groom residents by brushing hair, teeth and shaving.
• Assist with bathing, incontinence and dressing.
• Feed residents and document food and liquid intake.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment for residents.
• Assist with mobility needs and transfers, and communicate with the healthcare team.

We are hiring immediately and offer paid training!

We have flexible full-time, part-time and on-call shifts availablewith a starting base rate of$18/hr(plus additionaldifferentials of $1 for night shift and $1 for weekends for AMs andPMs). The hourly rate for IHR/On-Call positions is $21.00 (plusadditional differential of $1 for weekends). We provide free DSP training.

CNAs and DSPs are encouraged to apply.Certified CNAsstart at a base rate of$20/hr and DSPs can start atup to$19.50/hrbased on years of experience as acertified DSP.

Who We Are:

Marklund is a nonprofit organization that provides residential,educational and therapy services to infants, children, teens andadults with serious and profound developmental disabilities andspecial healthcare needs. With two residential locations – theMarklund Hyde Center in Geneva and the Marklund Wasmond Center inElgin, it is currently home to nearly 178 residents. The Marklund DaySchool offers Multi-Needs and Life Skills programs for children andyoung adults with multiple medical needs, and those diagnosed on theautism spectrum. In addition, our Community Day Services program ateach site is a therapeutic day program for adults who reside atMarklund and those who come in from the community.

You will make a difference in the lives of our residents who haveintellectual and/or developmental disabilities in the following ways:

• Assist with day program activities which include helping ensurethe residents have the opportunity to achieve their goals for the day

Experience and Skills

Caregiver Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
