Job summary

Lindt & Sprüngli (North America) Inc. in Kansas City, MO, seeks a Transportation Optimization Lead to build and run a transportation plan that optimizes routes and costs across multiple manufacturing sites and distribution centers.

You will work with planners, warehouses, inventory deployment teams, and carriers to ensure service targets are met while minimizing distribution costs, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated successful interaction with cross-functional teams and working with all levels of management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of TMS.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and collaborate with Transportation Planners, overseeing a network of manufacturing sites and distribution centers.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the network for process, system, and performance enhancements.
  • Analyze recurring service failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Maximize trailer utilization, optimize modes, and respect plant/DC constraints.
  • Perform network analysis and sailing schedule optimization; improve processes.
  • Attend daily load plan review calls with DCs to finalize optimal plans.

The role will work directly with transportation load planners, warehouse partners, manufacturing locations, inventory deployment teams, and carrier partners to execute end-to-end distribution optimization. The position determines the optimal route for orders to provide exceptional service at the lowest distribution cost.
