Job summary

DP World in Union City, GA, is seeking an experienced Transportation Supervisor to plan, direct and coordinate logistics at the facility, improving performance, productivity and efficiency through effective methods and strategies.

You will coordinate order cycles, monitor movement and storage, assign carriers, ensure fleet maintenance, and collaborate with operations to meet secure dates. This role offers growth within a global logistics leader.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field.
Experience performing professional level operational and plant management duties; preferably in automotive or logistics industry.
Knowledge of principles and procedures used in material planning and logistics operations and practices.
Knowledge of various means of transport / transit times.

Responsibilities

Coordinate order cycle and associated information systems.
Monitor quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of movement and storage of goods.
Assign approved service provider for transportation based on carrier matrix, mode, service level, and cost efficiency.
Ensure that all transport fleet vehicles are properly maintained.
Proactively work with operations to identify shipments at risk of not meeting secure dates based on mode, service level, miles, equipment type.
