Job summary

Kroger in Keller, TX seeks a Transportation Supervisor to assist in daily operations of the transportation department, oversee hourly associates, ensure on-time deliveries, and support carrier supply chain programs to reduce costs.

You will supervise a non-exempt team, coordinate with other departments, uphold DOT compliance and safety, track mileage and fuel, and foster a professional, collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred for advancement.
• 2+ years in Transportation, Distribution, Manufacturing or related fields.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of D.O.T. compliance laws and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop a team of non-exempt associates in daily operations
• Maintain on-time deliveries with a Full, Fresh and Friendly mindset
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate schedules and deliveries
• Follow established programs to identify and address transportation opportunities
• Assist in identifying technology and procedural solutions to improve productivity
• Support problem solving with supervisors and managers to schedule deliveries and hauls
• Communicate with stores to solve delivery problems
• Maintain records of mileage, fuel, repairs and expenses
• Track trailers using Orbcomm technology
• Execute the backhaul program with emphasis on ORAD compliance
• Communicate daily operations to align business, people and safety metrics
• Maintain professional and positive work environment
• Create a responsive workforce through regular meetings and huddles
• Coach direct reports and conduct performance reviews
