Job summary

Penske Logistics is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a team in a dynamic transportation and logistics environment at our Houston location. You will oversee supervisors and drivers, drive safety, and ensure the operation aligns with the customer’s business objectives and Penske goals.

The role emphasizes developing forward-looking plans, managing resources, and delivering performance against the site financial operating plan. A bonus eligibility is noted based on performance.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
• Must be able to lead and develop a team, manage schedules and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams to exceed customer and site goals.
• Recruit, train, develop and retain quality associates.
• Establish effective two-way communication and recognize excellence.
• Maintain relationships with associates, customer, and supporting departments.
• Meet/exceed customer KPIs and operational objectives.
• Interact daily with the local customer to understand needs.
• Identify operational improvements (route optimization, carrier selection, backhauls).
• Collaborate with Penske sites to share best practices.
