Transportation Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated Transportation Operations Manager to lead teams across various Amazon fulfillment sites nationwide. The role requires a proven ability to drive process improvements, manage safety and quality, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of Transportation Area Managers located within individual sites to streamline logistics operations.
• Ensure overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience for your region.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
• Account for meeting and exceeding operational goals.
• Strategic planning and forecasting; appraise performance; reward and coach employees; resolve problems; address staffing needs.
• Mentor, train and develop teammates for career progression and learning.
• Develop and share best practices across shifts and network.
• Travel up to 50% of the time may be required.
• Work a flexible schedule, including overnight, weekends and holidays.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience.
• Experience managing a team of 2+ salaried employees and 70+ indirect employees.
• Experience scoping, leading, and implementing process improvements through Lean process, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma.
• Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Track record of meeting or exceeding department performance goals.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.
• Experience in military, manufacturing, automotive, biotech, electronics, energy, instrumentation, machinery, defense/aerospace, medical, cosmetics, production, or distribution environments.

Benefits and Compensation

The base salary range for this position is 91,000.00 - 136,500.00 USD annually. Compensation includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units; final pay is based on experience, qualifications and location.
