Job summary

Dot Foods, a pioneer in the food industry supply chain, seeks an Assistant Transportation Manager in Vidalia, GA to support the transportation manager in fleet performance, budgeting, safety, and operations. You will coordinate with dispatch, assist with driver reviews, manage hours of service, and contribute to lean improvements.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; strong organizational and communication skills are required.

• Experience in using Microsoft Office programs/applications

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with dispatch for efficient and effective fleet resource utilization.
• Assists with vehicle safety issues.
• Conducts driver reviews.
• Supports overall dispatch and traffic management goals.
• Coordinates training for drivers based on individual performance within key areas.
• Assists with budget preparation and execution.
• Manages the on-board computer system and hours of service for all drivers.
• Leads continuous improvement efforts while applying lean thinking and tools to eliminate waste.
