Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. invites interns to gain hands-on experience supporting transportation brokerage operations. Under close supervision, you will learn about carrier negotiation, market dynamics, and the tools used to deliver efficient solutions.

This internship is 40 hours per week during the summer, with a focus on building a carrier base, supporting service execution, and understanding margins while delivering best-in-class outcomes.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in good standing; must be able to work 40 hours a week during the summer.
• Preferred Qualifications include junior or senior level
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
• Willingness to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure and understanding of the transportation industry.
• Participate in daily transportation brokerage activities; verify carrier authenticity and monitor shipment records.
• Build understanding of market trends, pricing strategies, and capacity challenges for carrier negotiations.
• Observe and practice serving as a liaison between internal stakeholders and carriers; learn to communicate service issues to minimize costs.
• Learn about the technology and tools used to streamline workflows and load management.
