Job summary

Orange County Public Schools seeks a seasoned transportation leader to oversee district bus operations, routing, dispatch, and fleet maintenance. You will guide budgeting, policy interpretation, and KPI tracking to ensure safe, efficient student transportation across the district.

Lead senior administrators, mentor area managers, and coordinate cross-functional teams to optimize service delivery while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with knowledge of transportation and budgeting.
• Five years of leadership in transportation with governmental accounting or budgeting experience.
• Two years leading teams of managers to meet department goals.
• Ability to research and resolve problems using data from multiple sources.
• Experience managing an organization with multiple garages and 1000+ assets.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate the efficient routing, dispatch, and maintenance of district vehicles.
• Develop procedures for Transportation systems and budgets.
• Oversee performance measures and cost controls within the unit.
• Mentor and evaluate managers reporting to the Senior Director.
• Prepare operating budgets and monitor expenditures.
• Investigate and resolve student transportation concerns.
