Job summary

Walmart Saint James, MO is seeking an Area Manager - Transportation Office to lead and optimize transportation services, ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods. You will guide a dynamic team to drive efficiency in logistics operations, upholding high standards of quality and safety.

You will manage staffing, scheduling, and performance reporting, train associates, and coordinate with service shops to ensure equipment readiness.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field OR 1 year Walmart Logistics experience OR 1 year transportation experience.
• Strong communication, leadership and people-management skills.
• Experience in driver management and coordinating fleet operations.
• Ability to analyze reports and drive safety and quality in logistics.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and associates.
• Set area goals, manage staffing, scheduling, and workload to meet production, quality, and safety targets.
• Prepare, review, and analyze business reports to manage productivity.
• Train associates in logistics policies, monitor compliance, maintain procedures and documentation.
• Address concerns from associates, customers, and suppliers with informed recommendations.
• Supervise and develop associates and leaders, participate in hiring and coaching.
• Ensure equipment availability by coordinating with service shops and local offices.
