The Transportation Network Optimization Engineer will bring our BluePrint to life by:

  • Keeping the customer at the center of network and routing decisions.
  • Collaborating across departments to develop solutions that benefit the entire organization.
  • Using data responsibly to identify opportunities and recommend practical improvements.
  • Taking ownership of initiatives from analysis through implementation.
  • Challenging current processes and finding better ways to serve our customers and support our teams.
  • Building scalable solutions that position PrimeSource for future growth.
What You’ll Do
  • Design and optimize transportation networks supporting inbound, outbound, final-mile, and dedicated fleet operations.
  • Analyze transportation costs, service metrics, capacity requirements, and operational performance to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop routing, transportation, and distribution strategies that improve efficiency and customer service.
  • Perform network modeling, scenario analysis, forecasting, and capacity planning to support business growth and changing customer demands.
  • Evaluate current-state transportation processes and design future-state transportation and routing models.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Transportation, Final Mile, and IT to develop and implement transportation solutions.
  • Create dashboards, KPIs, and analytical tools that provide actionable insights for operational and executive leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline logistics, distribution, and final-mile operations.
  • Support strategic transportation initiatives, including route optimization, carrier strategy, network expansion, and delivery-model design.
  • Drive continuous improvement by automating manual processes, optimizing workflows, improving system utilization, and developing scalable solutions across transportation and supply chain operations.
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear, compelling, and business-focused manner.
  • Track implemented solutions to measure performance, validate results, and identify additional opportunities for improvement.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Three to five or more years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain engineering, network design, or analytics.
  • Strong understanding of transportation networks, routing, distribution operations, final-mile delivery, and fleet optimization.
  • Experience using analytical tools such as Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or Coupa.
  • Ability to perform scenario modeling, optimization, forecasting, and transportation analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to transform complex data into practical business recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leaders.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on analysis and implementation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with transportation network design and optimization.
  • Experience with vehicle routing and route-optimization tools.
  • Knowledge of final-mile delivery and dedicated fleet operations.
  • Experience with capacity planning and forecasting.
  • Experience using transportation management systems such as SAP TM, Oracle Transportation Management, Blue Yonder, or a similar platform.
  • Experience with supply chain modeling and simulation.
