Job summary

Wellsville USD 289 is seeking a Transportation Monitor/Aide to support the bus driver and ensure a safe, courteous ride for students throughout the day.

No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive safety and training programs, and the role includes flexible split shifts, a valid State ID or driver’s license, and required background checks and drug testing.

Qualifications

• No experience as a Transportation Monitor/Aide is required; we will guide you with safety and training programs.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Must possess a valid State ID or Driver's License.
• Must pass background check and drug test.
• DOT Physical provided by school district.
• CPR certification provided by school district.
• Ability to work flexible split shifts (AM/PM).
• Physical ability to assist students and perform emergency procedures.
• Friendly, reliable, and patient when working with children.

Responsibilities

• Help students safely board and exit the bus or van.
• Assist children with special needs during transport.
• Ensure students remain seated and follow vehicle safety rules.
• Communicate with the driver to maintain a safe, calm ride.
• Provide care and encouragement to students each day.

Job Description

Transportation Monitor/Aide, will assist the bus driver in providing an excellent and safe journey for students to and from school.

No experience as a Transportation Monitor/Aide is required! We will guide you with our industry-leading safety and training programs.

• Hourly Rate: $19.50/HR Contract $18/HR Substitute Monitor
• Flexible schedule: Split shifts (AM/PM routes), weekdays only; No nights, weekends, or holidays.

Your day as a Transportation Monitor/Aide will include:

• Help students safely board and exit the bus or van.
• Assist children with special needs during transport.
• Ensure students remain seated and follow vehicle safety rules.
• Communicate with the driver to maintain a safe, calm ride.
