Job summary

City of Medford is seeking a Transportation Manager to lead the Traffic Engineering Section, oversee planning, signal operations, development reviews, and traffic safety initiatives. This role collaborates with City staff, regional partners, consultants, developers, and the community to enhance mobility and quality of life in Medford.

The ideal candidate will have an Oregon Professional Engineer license, a strong leadership background, and experience in transportation planning and engineering.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of progressive experience in transportation engineering or transportation planning with two (2) of those years in a supervisory or leadership position.

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff, including assigning work, scheduling, providing guidance, employee development, hiring, disciplinary recommendations, etc.
• Plans, develops, implements, and manages transportation standards, plans, policies, programs, and projects.
• Operates and maintains traffic signals and street lights; adjusts signal timing for safety and efficiency.
• Manages budgets, pursues outside funding and grants, and coordinates with regional partners.
