This job is in the Delivery family (Department), which includes positions the duties of which are to administer, supervise, or perform work involving the planning, directing, or operating of transportation equipment and service, including positions involving responsibility for driving, loading, and coordinating delivery.

Job Function
  • Plan and supervise the shipments from production to the end-user.
  • Schedule daily and weekly routes.
  • Track orders using functional systems (e.g. dispatch/tracking software).
  • Coordinate with Warehouse Workers to ensure proper storage and distribution of products.
  • Monitor and report on transportation costs.
  • Ensure shipping documents are properly filed.
  • Report maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles and equipment.
  • Research and suggest cost-effective shipping methods.
  • Conduct regular safety audits on equipment.
  • Organize training sessions for employees (e.g. Smith System, monthly safety training, weekly, tailgate messages).
  • Keep organized records of vehicles, schedules and completed orders.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and shipping legislation.
  • Oversee and manage staff to ensure work is completed and consistent with company standards.
  • Monitor driver qualifications and training.
  • Respond to and resolve complaints and problems.
  • Responsible for adhering to/ensuring compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
Required Skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • Valid Drivers license and a driving record that demonstrates a commitment to safe vehicle practices required.
  • Ability to meet current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) quality criteria as defined by Federal regulations and/or company policy required.
  • Knowledge of crash and employee injury exposures and controls required.
  • Knowledge of USDOT/FMCSA regulations required.
  • Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and their interpretations required.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including innovative and engaging ways to convey messages across the organization required.
  • Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on a combination of factors including analysis, knowledge and experience, and judgment required.
  • Ability to initiate and maintain cooperative relationships with co-workers, building trust and open lines of communication across the organization required.
  • Strong computer proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft applications required.
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work weekends and off business hours, as needed required.
Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $60,000.00/Yr. - USD $80,000.00/Yr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
