Job summary

Piedmont Hardware Brands is seeking a Transportation Manager to oversee carrier relationships, optimize lane awards, and ensure compliance with NAFTA, C-TPAT, and related regulations across domestic and international shipments. The role collaborates with multiple DCs, sites, and management teams to meet service and cost goals.

The ideal candidate has a BA/BS in logistics or related field, 10+ years in transportation with 5+ in management, and strong Excel/analytical skills.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in logistics, business or related field.
• 10+ years of related experience; minimum 5 years in management.
• Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods industry preferred.
• Expertise in transportation operations and pricing: Truckload, LTL, Intermodal.
• Experience managing an outsourced logistics provider is strongly preferred.
• Transportation contracting and procurement experience.
• Experience leading change in large organizations is highly desired.
• Solid knowledge of Excel and analytical skills; SAP knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage 3PL in TL carrier lane awards and capacity commitments to ensure reliable service.
• Co-manage carrier report card review process in partnership.
• Plan for capacity and service with DCs, 3PL and carriers.
• Review 3PL service performance weekly and monthly.
• Ensure all billing is audited as contracted.
• Review cost performance of core carriers and 3PL weekly.
• Ensure ongoing compliance related to NAFTA, Drawback and Duty Deferral, C-TPAT, HTS, Post Entry, Export Control and SAP.
• Provide leadership to optimize warehouse space and transportation spend.
• Develop KPI reporting for PPIC shipment activity.

Job Summary & Responsibilities

The Transportation Manager will ensure that the contracted parties (3PL, Parcel, Intermodal, etc) maintain and establish all appropriate fleet, cost and quality in equipment and personnel to meet the business requirements.This position will maintain daily oversight and coordination with outside providers, both domestic and international, as well as coordinate with site management for particular requirements.The Transportation Manager will require familiarity with domestic/international shipments best practices, legal requirements, government regulation and safety procedures as required by the contracted companies.In addition, the Transportation Manager will need to become a collaborative partner with all of the operating locations and management personnel. This position will maintain and drive oversight and coordination with all parties. Knowledge of domestic/international shipment options, legal issues, government regulations, and safety procedures is required.

This position is primarily responsible for:

• Managing 3PL in their execution of TL carrier lane awards and capacity commitments to ensure reliable service to all businesses during peak periods
• Co-managing carrier report card review process in partnership
• Working with DC's, 3PL and carriers to plan for capacity and service
• Reviewing 3PL service performance by company, by supplier weekly & monthly
• Ensuring all billing, whether by internal or external, is audited on a regular basis as contracted
• Reviewing cost performance of core carriers and 3PL weekly
• Responsible for ongoing compliance related to North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), Drawback and Duty Deferral Programs, Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), Highway Transportation System (HTS), Post Entry, Export Control Classification Numbers (CCNs) and Valuation related to SAP and all US/Foreign operations
• Providing leadership to bring pack into forwardDC's on-time to protect Customer fill rate, efficiently load availableWarehouse space, and control transportation spend
• Additional work cross functionally to develop KPI reporting for all PPIC shipment activity
• Other duties as assigned

Q ualifications

• BA/BS Degree required, preferably in Logistics, Business or related field
• Minimum of 10 years of related experience required. Minimum of five (5) years of management experience
• Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods industry preferred
