Job summary

Commerce City Public Works is seeking a Transportation Network Manager to lead the city's traffic engineering and transportation planning efforts, overseeing MUTCD compliance, traffic signal operations, and multi-modal planning.

You will guide the Safety Action Plan and Transportation Master Plan, aiming to improve road safety, pedestrian and multimodal connectivity, and the overall mobility network for a growing community.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field (ABET-accredited).
  • Must be registered as/obtainable as a Professional Engineer or Professional Traffic Operations Engineer in Colorado within six months.
  • Two years supervisory experience and five years progressive engineering experience in transportation planning and engineering.
  • Technical knowledge of traffic operations, traffic control, transportation networks, and civil engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the City's traffic engineering and transportation planning efforts.
  • Oversee MUTCD compliance and traffic signal operations.
  • Oversee multi-modal planning and intelligent transportation systems.
  • Guide the City’s long-range transportation vision through Safety Action Plan and Transportation Master Plan.

Hiring salary is dependent upon experience.

The hiring range is $131,636.25 - $146,262.50

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Must be registered as a Professional Engineer or Professional Traffic Operations Engineer in the State of Colorado, or have the ability to obtain license within six months of hire.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience and five (5) years of progressive engineering experience in transportation planning and engineering required.
  • Technical knowledge of traffic operations, traffic control, transportation networks, and civil engineering required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
