Job summary

MDOT in Michigan seeks a Transportation Maintenance Coordinator 12 in the Detroit TSC. The role oversees maintenance contracts and ROW permit work by contract agencies, local governments, utilities, and private firms to ensure safety and mobility.

Responsibilities include field ROW permit oversight, permit closeouts, processing advance notices, and coordinating maintenance operations. The position acts as an Emergency First Responder for assigned routes and as a back-up responder in the Metro

Qualifications

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.
One year of experience equivalent to a Transportation Maintenance Supervisor 11 or two years of experience equivalent to a Transportation Maintenance Worker 9.
Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain it throughout employment in the position.

Responsibilities

Oversee maintenance contracts and ROW permit work performed by contract agencies, local governments, utility companies and private sector contractors.
Assist with permit closeouts, processing permit advance notices, and coordinating maintenance operations.
Review area infrastructure such as roads, bridges, roadsides, drainage systems, signage and fencing for maintenance needs.
Serve as Emergency First Responder for assigned routes and as a back-up responder within the Metro Region when needed.
