Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Transportation Logistics Coordinator for the Woodridge, IL area. The role focuses on coordinating outbound shipments, identifying consolidation opportunities, and ensuring on-time delivery using Transportation Management Systems (TMS).

The position requires strong communication skills and at least 1 year of logistics experience. The role is office-based with a 7:30am-4:00pm shift, offering benefits starting from day one and a competitive hourly rate of $21.00–$22.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience coordinating logistics, shipping, or outbound transportation within a distribution or warehouse operation.
• No relocation benefit; candidates within 50-mile radius of Woodridge, IL; Active Duty Military Service members exempt from geographical area limitation.
• Eaton will not sponsor immigration for this position (CPT, OPT, STEM OPT, H-1B, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate outbound shipments using Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Track shipments from pickup to delivery and communicate status or delays to teams.
• Identify consolidation opportunities to support efficient movement and high service levels.
• Troubleshoot and resolve transportation issues, escalating when needed and proposing solutions.
• Maintain shipment data in transportation systems and generate required reports.
• Coordinate with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and transportation providers to address orders and changes.
• Support non-standard shipments by obtaining quotes and rate information for sales quotes.

Position Overview:

The Transportation Coordinator supports the Shipping Department by coordinating day-to-day outbound transportation activities. This primarily office based position includes daily responsibilities such as identifying consolidation opportunities, quoting, scheduling and confirming shipments, maintaining documentation, and tracking deliveries. This role works closely with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and transportation partners to address requests, resolve shipment-related issues, and help keep shipments moving efficiently on schedule.

In this function you will:

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate outbound shopments using Transportation Management Systems (TMS), adjusting schedules as needed to support operational and customer requirements.
• Track and monitor shopments from pickup through delivery, confirming pickups with transportation partners and communicating shipment status or delays to appropriate teams.
• Identify consolidation and transportation opportunities to support efficient movement of shopments and high service levels.
• Troubleshoot and resolve transportation related issues, escalating concerns and recommending solutions when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate shipment information and documentation within transportation systems and generate required reports.
• Coordinate with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and transportation providers to address order changes, shipment requests, and other transportation needs.
• Support non-standard shipment requests by identifying qualified tranpsortation providers, obtaining quotes, calculating applicable markups, and providing timely rate information to support sales quotations.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 1 year of experience coordinating logistics, shipping, or outbound transportation activities within a distribution or warehouse operation.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Woodridge, IL will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred:
