Job summary

Great Lakes Cheese, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Load Planning Analyst to support the execution of the transportation network, including planning and scheduling inbound and outbound deliveries, in an office setting.

Collaboration with carriers, internal teams, and customers to meet performance expectations is essential. A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and strong TMS/SAP/Oracle skills, plus excellent communication and organizational abilities, are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or High School Diploma with 4+ years transportation operations experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Able to learn and use Transportation Management System (TMS) and scheduling systems.
• Good communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• General assistance with planning and routine issue resolution related to transportation operations for the assigned network, including meeting customer performance expectations.
• Assist with load planning and routing for plants using the Transportation Management System (TMS). Provide support for internal and external email communication execution.
• Provide back up support for load planning team as needed.
• Assist with all general departmental improvement and efficiency projects as needed.
• Communicate with transportation providers effectively and in a timely manner.
• Coordinate customer delivery appointments by utilizing customer scheduling systems to accurately schedule, update, and maintain delivery information in accordance with established processes.
• Follow organizational policies, procedures, and transportation best practices to support compliance and operational effectiveness.
• Perform all assignments and job tasks according to stated safety policies and procedures.
• Produce products in a manner that exceeds customer and consumer expectations for quality and value by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, policies, and procedures outlined in the Safe Quality Food Program.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or High School Diploma and a minimum of 4 years of transportation operations experience in lieu of a degree.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to learn and use software, including TMS and scheduling systems.
• Good communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of transportation operations experience.
• TMS and SAP experience.
• Experience with Oracle TMS solutions.
• Ability to frame opportunities in a clear, concise, and logical manner.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot issues, solve problems, and meet deadlines.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting.

Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
