State of Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) seeks a Transportation Engineer 2 (Land Surveying) to support property mapping, right-of-way mapping, and acquisition-related tasks at the CTDOT Headquarters in Newington, CT.

The role emphasizes advanced mapping production, data analysis, and coordination with engineers and consultants to ensure accuracy and compliance with state statutes. Travel and license maintenance are required; the position is hybrid, first shift, full-time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management and two years of professional transportation construction/engineering experience.
• One year of experience may be substituted if already at Transportation Engineer 1 level.
• Alternative substitutions include NICET Level III certs, LS/L.S., LSIT/EIT, AWS CWI equivalents.

Responsibilities

• Analyze land records and interpret CTDOT Right of Way maps.
• Prepare property acquisition and release maps using ORD and CADD tools.
• Review mapping data and update procedural workflows.
• Coordinate with CTDOT engineers and consultants to facilitate mapping.
