Job summary

Responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing and updating the state’s bridge replacement priorities list.
• Assist in quality assurance reviews of bridge inspection reports and bridge load ratings.
• Assist with the creation of a Hurricane Resiliency Plan for state bridges and causeways in Tampa Bay in preparation for future major hurricanes or storms.
• Assist manager and emergency response design consultant in preparation of inspection reports, field reviews, and plans for emergency repairs done by state forces.
• Review state bridge inventory and assist manager with development of 5-year Work Program for future bridge repair and rehabilitation projects.
• Assist with review of design contract documents, specifications, and construction cost estimates for bridge repair and rehabilitation projects and asset maintenance work activities.
• Assist in analyzing existing bridge structures for design repair projects and establishing methods and techniques for the repair.
• Conduct site visits to bridge construction and repair projects.
• Conduct site visits to movable drawbridges to review for future safety improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Work You Will Do:

D7 Transportation Intern.

The D7 Transportation Intern will:

• Assist in reviewing and updating the state’s bridge replacement priorities list.
• Assist in quality assurance reviews of bridge inspection reports and bridge load ratings.
