Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Inspection Intern to be based in Rocky Hill, CT, participating in on-site inspections of roadway and transportation projects. You will learn inspection techniques, observe construction activities, and assist in preparing daily reports under close supervision.

You will shadow experienced inspectors and engineers, gain hands-on experience, and engage in project meetings to understand management and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related discipline.
• Must have completed two years of study; graduates pursuing a Master’s degree eligible.
• Recent graduates must have been enrolled in the most recent term with intention to continue in the same field.

Responsibilities

• Assist in on-site inspections of construction projects, focusing on roadway/transportation infrastructure.
• Learn and apply standard inspection techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Observe and document construction activities for compliance with specs, safety, and quality.
• Collect field data: measurements, photos, material samples.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain project records.
• Shadow experienced inspectors to gain practical knowledge of construction processes.
• Attend project meetings and site visits to understand project management and stakeholder communication.
