Job summary

Wight & Company is offering a Summer Internship for civil engineering students to gain hands-on experience in transportation and infrastructure projects. Interns will work on-site in the Chicagoland area, under supervision, and participate in meetings with teams and clients.

Ideal candidates are currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s in Civil Engineering, with strong communication and organizational skills, and a willingness to learn and contribute in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee, inspect, and monitor contractor’s operations under the direction of supervising engineers
• Review, interpret, and correct errors in plans and calculations
• Maintain and organize construction records
• Attend team and client meetings in house and on-site for construction projects
• Develop and maintain strong client relations

Requirements:

• Current student pursuing Bachelor’s/Master’s in Civil Engineering
• Interest in Transportation & Infrastructure
• Strong communications skills
• Good organization and computer skills
• Reliable transportation to travel to and from assigned job site in the Chicagoland area
• Past design and/or delivery work experience a plus
• Openness to learn and have fun

Salary Range: $20 - $25. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
