Job summary

BKF is seeking a Civil Infrastructure Engineering Manager in California to lead transportation design and mentor engineers. A California-licensed PE is preferred, with out-of-state PEs welcome. The role requires strong leadership and collaboration across offices to deliver multimodal infrastructure projects.

You will manage task execution, ensure design standard compliance, and contribute to proposals and business development while traveling between BKF offices and project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• California PE license highly preferred; out-of-state PE considered.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in transportation infrastructure design and project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design efforts for transportation projects including complete streets and multimodal facilities.
• Plan and organize project delivery, delegate tasks, and make final decisions as the professional in responsible charge.
• Ensure compliance with Caltrans, FHWA, CPUC, and local agency standards.
• Mentor engineering staff in roadway design and stormwater integration.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, permitting agencies, and sub-consultants.
• Assist with proposals, scopes of work, schedules, and fee estimates.
