Job summary

HDR, Inc. seeks a Transportation Hydraulics Section Manager in Pennsylvania to lead and grow our hydraulics team. You will manage hydraulic staff, ensure quality and profitability, and serve as a Project Manager or Project Engineer on large infrastructure projects.

The role includes business development, client management, and mentoring staff while aligning with HDR’s employee-owned culture. Primary location is Pennsylvania with multiple PA sites.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering or MS degree in Civil Engineering
• PE in Pennsylvania or ability to obtain within six months of hire
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to handle multiple assignments
• Experience with PennDOT and PTC projects

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Area Section Managers to balance staff workload and pursue BD opportunities
• Lead multi-discipline transportation design teams as Project Manager or Project Engineer
• Perform technical design for DOT hydraulics and water resources
• Drive business development efforts within Ohio, including client management
• Establish client relationships and lead marketing of new and existing clients
• Lead development of proposals, scopes, schedules, and budgets
• Mentor staff and act as technical expert in engineering analysis and design
• Coordinate work of engineers and balance the project delivery team
• Conduct analyses, develop design solutions, prepare drawings, calculations and specs
• Perform quality control reviews of design projects
