Job summary

HDR, Inc. seeks a Transportation Hydraulics Section Manager in Pennsylvania to lead and grow the hydraulics team on large transportation projects.

You will manage staff, ensure on-time submissions, supervise profitability and quality, and help with business development and client management. You will lead multi-disciplinary design teams, perform technical hydraulics/drawing work for DOT and local agencies, and mentor junior staff while coordinating with leadership to drive successful project

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering; MS preferred.
• PE in Pennsylvania or ability to obtain within six months.
• Minimum 10 years hydraulics and water resources design experience.
• Proven leadership in transportation design projects, PennDOT/PTC focus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Area Section Managers to balance staff workload.
• Lead multi-disciplinary transportation design teams as PM/PE.
• Perform hydraulic analyses for DOT and local agencies.
• Drive business development and client management, including proposals.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets; mentor staff.
• Coordinate work of engineers across project delivery teams.
• Conduct design checks, quality control, and technical reviews.
