State of West Virginia is seeking a Transportation Geographic Information Systems Technician to support the GIS Services Unit, the Linear Referencing Systems Services Unit, or the Mapping Services Unit in the Information Technology Division. This role handles basic GIS work, data entry, applications, and map production for a state agency.

The ideal candidate has an Associate’s degree in GIS or a related field with two years of GIS experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with equivalent GIS training.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in GIS or related field with six semester hours in GIS or CADD and related subjects.
• Two years of GIS experience or an equivalent substitute with a Bachelor's degree.
• Valid driver's license may be required for travel.

Responsabilités

• Digital data entry and maintenance, executing GIS applications, and producing maps and related outputs.
• Work includes basic-level GIS operations across multiple units within IT Division.
• Analyze subject matter and assist in related GIS tasks as required.
