Job summary

Commonwealth of Kentucky, Transportation Cabinet, Pikeville District, seeks a Transportation Engineering Technologist I in Pike County. The role focuses on overseeing field crews, planning major projects, and ensuring project documentation and meetings align with construction and maintenance goals.

Ideal candidates will have a technical engineering background and strong teamwork, time management, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering technology, construction management, engineering science, engineering mechanics, computer science, data science, geology, earth science, industrial technology, industrial drafting, design technology or construction technology.
• Associate degree in Engineering Technology with completion of the KY Transportation Cabinet’s Engineering Technology Scholarship Program.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the work of transportation maintenance crews and construction inspector crews.
• Plans, schedules, and supervises the work and activities of engineering crews on major projects under development, review, construction, or maintenance.
• Organizes and conducts meetings in the planning, construction and maintenance of projects.
• Develops and maintains project or program documentation.
• Meets with local property owner and officials to discuss highway road conditions and needs.
