Job summary

Tennessee Department of Transportation is seeking Transportation Engineering Specialists to support Region 4 - District 49 Operations - Maintenance. Roles require a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Project Management, or Concrete Industry Management, with progressively increasing competency in planning, developing, and constructing projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Construction Project Management, or Concrete Industry Management (Education must be from an accredited institution)
• 1 Year of Demonstrated Competency in planning, developing and/or constructing projects (Engineering Specialist II)
• 2 Years of Demonstrated Competency in planning, developing and/or constructing projects (Engineering Specialist III) or Master’s Degree with 1 Year relevant competency
• 3 Years of Demonstrated Competency in planning, developing and/or constructing projects (Engineering Specialist IV) or Master’s Degree with 2 Years relevant competency

Responsibilities

• Assist in establishing and ensuring direct relationship between quality and work outcomes with project quality team leads
• Integrate Quality Management into all deliverables including policies, procedures, and manuals
• Assist in development of a Consultant Acquisition Plan (CAP) and oversee consultants per the Brooks Act
• Lead District Maintenance Operations Teams and coordinate emergency responses such as crashes or floods
• Develop work programs and ensure data accuracy for Asset Management
