Job summary

The State Highway Administration's Baltimore City office seeks a Section Chief (Transportation Engineering Manager I) to oversee the Federal Aid Program and manage a team of 10 engineers.

Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, coordinating with FHWA, and guiding project oversight across SHA's program areas; a BE in engineering and 7+ years of professional experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Seven (7) years of professional engineering experience.
• Two (2) years of oversight/monitoring federal transportation programs or projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of SHA's Federal Aid Program (approx. $800M).
• Supervise a staff of 10 and provide guidance on federal requirements and regulations.
• Serve as liaison to FHWA and oversee project approvals within SHA program areas.
