Job summary

Jobtailor in Massachusetts seeks a motivated Civil Engineering student intern to assist in roadway and intersection design. You will help prepare construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates while supporting plan development with AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Civil Engineering degree (Assoc or Bach)
• Coursework or experience in roadway design or traffic studies
• Strong interest in transportation engineering and roadway design
• Hands-on experience with design software preferred
• At least 2 years of college coursework completed preferred
• Previous internship in engineering design, construction observation, or consulting preferred

• Assist in roadway and intersection design, including traffic control and signage
• Help prepare construction documents, technical specifications, and cost estimates
• Participate in field visits and construction observations
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation to support plan development
• Collaborate with transportation engineering professionals on infrastructure projects across the Northeast

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s program pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or related degree
• Coursework or experience related to roadway design or traffic studies or other related coursework and experience
• Strong interest in transportation engineering, roadway design, or traffic analysis
• Intellectual curiosity and a desire to solve engineering problems
• Effective communication skills and attention to detail
• Flexibility, a positive attitude, and open-mindedness
• Hands-on experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Synchro, or other 3D modeling/visualization tools preferred
• At least 2 years of completed coursework in a college level academic program preferred
• Previous internship experience in engineering design, construction observation, or consulting preferred
