  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering.
  • Preferred: Exposure to Complete Streets or multimodal planning principles.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with CTDOT or MassDOT and/or municipal traffic design standards.
  • Preferred: Experience with traffic studies, permitting, or data collection through academic or internship projects.
  • Preferred: Interest in obtaining a PE license and engaging in professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Perform traffic analysis and modeling using tools such as Synchro and SimTraffic.
  • Assist in developing traffic signal timing plans and intersection improvement concepts.
  • Support preparation of traffic engineering plans, cost estimates, and design documentation.
  • Review and analyze traffic data, including volumes, crash history, and speed studies.
  • Help draft technical memoranda, traffic studies, and feasibility reports for state and municipal clients.
  • Assist with permit documentation such as CTDOT encroachment permits and Traffic Management Plans.
  • Participate in field investigations and site visits to observe traffic operations and gather project data.
  • Collaborate with roadway, drainage, structural, and environmental teams to support integrated designs.
