Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Transportation Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in our Roanoke, VA office. You will join a team of professionals and gain hands-on project experience applying the latest technology to solve clients’ challenges.

The program offers a Summer Intern experience with workshops, professional development, and a group project guided by firm leaders. Housing stipend may be provided for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Transportation) is required.
• Previous transportation-focused internship experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design of horizontal and vertical alignments.
• Contribute to drainage and stormwater management tasks.
• Develop erosion and sediment control plans.
• Assist with maintenance and protection of traffic schemes.
• Prepare contract plans for a variety of projects.
