Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Site/Civil Engineering Intern in our Gainesville, VA office for Summer 2027. This role offers a path to grow with a team of professionals and gain hands-on project experience.

Interns will work on grading, roadway, stormwater, water and sanitary sewer design tasks while participating in workshops and a series of development activities. A housing bonus may be available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Previous internship experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Site / Civil engineering practices including grading design, roadway design, storm water management systems design, water and sanitary sewer design, and erosion and sediment control design.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency using CADD and Microsoft Office software.
• Desire to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Work on all phases of civil/municipal engineering including grading design, roadway design, storm water management systems design, water and sanitary sewer design, and erosion and sediment control design.
• Assist with permitting and code research, write specifications, and prepare/submit permit applications.
• Support the Summer Intern Program with hands-on project experience and workshops.
