Job summary

Stantec’s Transportation Group is seeking a motivated Transportation Engineering Intern to support roadway, traffic, and bridge projects in a collaborative team environment. You’ll gain exposure to roadway design, traffic studies, and plan production using MicroStation and related Bentley software.

As an intern, you’ll gather data, assist in analyses, and participate in fieldwork and meetings with clients and agencies.

Qualifications

• Pursuing bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil/transportation/structural engineering.
• Co-op or internship experience preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with CAD/design software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gather project data such as traffic volumes and field conditions to support design decisions.
• Prepare reports, drawings, calculations, and construction documents for roadway, traffic, and bridge projects.
• Perform routine engineering calculations related to roadway geometry, drainage, and signals.
• Assist CAD drafting and plan development using MicroStation, OpenRoads, InRoads, PowerGeoPak.
• Support traffic engineering tasks including intersection analysis and safety recommendations.
• Support bridge design tasks including basic calculations and plan development.
• Participate in field work, meetings with teams and stakeholders.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.
