Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc. (JMT) invites students in Civil Engineering to join its McKinney, Texas office for an internship program. Interns will work on real projects under experienced staff, contributing to design updates and data gathering while gaining hands-on experience in transportation/highway projects.

Qualifications

• Full-time student, rising junior or senior currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in civil engineering.
• Coursework in related field is preferred.
• Previous internship experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Edit and update engineering drawings and projects in MicroStation with PowerGeopak and OpenRoads Designer.
• Obtain design data from adjacent or similar projects and go-bys.
• Collaborate with team to coordinate new small-scale projects.
• Assemble data and research such as site information and design standards.
• Contribute inputs on solutions using basic engineering fundamentals.
• Assist with layout and design of routine small and medium-sized projects.
• Develop and prepare specifications; maintain project documentation.
• Participate in weekly seminars and end-of-internship presentation.
