Job summary

HDR is seeking Transportation Interns in Nashville to gain hands-on experience across highway design, planning, bridges, rail, and construction engineering. You will work with engineers and project managers on impactful projects shaping communities.

Preferred candidates are current Civil Engineering students with strong problem-solving and communication skills, and basic MS Office proficiency. Local candidates are preferred; internship is full-time and includes exposure to field projects.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Basic Microsoft Office skills
• Active participation in employee-owned culture preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with highway design plan production and design details
• Support traffic engineering, data analysis, and forecasting
• Assist with CAD drawings for bridges, box culverts, and retaining walls
• Participate in project meetings, field visits, and coordination
• Support field observation, documentation, and reporting
• Assist with airport funding and grant administration activities
