Job summary

VHB’s growing Charlotte, NC office is looking for a Transportation Engineer to join our Traffic Operations group. The selected candidate will work with a team of transportation planners and engineers on a variety of public, private, and institutional projects within broad cross-section of markets, including municipal, state agencies, higher education, and federal agencies.

Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering and 5-8+ years of relevant experience.
Experience in traffic engineering and project management.
Familiarity with local municipality and NCDOT policy and standards.

Responsibilities

Serve as Task Manager or Project Manager on traffic engineering and planning projects.
Prepare and/or lead traffic impact and safety studies.
Complete traffic operational improvement studies for localized intersections and corridors.
Provide analyses of traffic safety issues and crash reduction measures.
Work with a team of professionals to develop mobility solutions incorporating Complete Street concepts in urban/suburban communities.
Perform field work services for signal, road safety audit, and/or other transportation assignments.
Conduct research and prepare reports; present findings to agencies and clients.
Develop analyses and reports aligned with NCDOT traffic operations and safety policies.
