Job summary

DGL Consulting Engineers, LLC in Fishers, IN seeks a Civil Engineer with 4-8 years of civil design experience to support our Roadway Department. You will perform plan preparation, design detailing, drainage calculations, and cost estimates for DOT and municipal projects.

Responsibilities include client coordination, RFI responses, and mentoring junior staff, while applying DOT standards and CAD workflows. This is a full-time on-site role with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 4-8 years of civil design engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist roadway team with plan preparation, design detailing, drainage calculations and reports, bid documents and cost estimates.
• Design tasks may include pavement design, horizontal and vertical design, closed and open drainage system design and BMP design, quantity and construction cost determination.
• Involvement in client meetings, responses to RFI’s and assisting in proposal preparation.
• Assist with the oversight of entry level engineers and budgeting of work tasks.
• Assists with calculations, record keeping.
• Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns.
• Communicate with leaders for understanding of project scope and coordinate with engineers on project requirements.
• Applies design standards, standard drawings, and CAD requirements for DOT and local agencies.
• Engage in periodic industry events and related marketing activities.
