Job summary

Arizona Department of Transportation in Phoenix seeks a Roadway Design Engineer to lead roadway design, engineering and design team management within the Roadway Engineering group. This role develops schedules, reviews reports, and coordinates with project teams to deliver high‑quality roadway designs for the ADOT program.

Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with guidelines, mentoring junior staff, and preparing design documents for construction.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• AZ PE certification or able to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Develop roadway designs, construction plans and details.
• Lead and review design teams; manage scope, schedule and budget.
• Review engineering reports and approve contractor documents.
• Prepare project scoping and planning documentation.
