Responsibilities

  • Assist in design and preparation of construction drawings for mechanical projects using Revit and related software
  • Perform engineering calculations, interpret drawings and specs
  • Work with multiple engineering disciplines and perform drafting/CAD work
  • Conduct site visits to gather data (measurements, sketches, notes, photos)
  • Prepare design calculations, drawings, specs, and cost estimates for review
  • Review and approve shop drawings | ensure project requirements
  • Read and interpret technical documents necessary for job performance
  • Coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants for project success
  • Attend bi-weekly meetings with project team to discuss progress
  • Ensure ISO compliance and budget adherence for projects
  • Complete tasks on time and within budget while meeting scope
  • Aim for or exceed budgeted utilization targets
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Complete other duties as required

Duties, Responsibilities & Other

The Mechanical Engineer-in-Training will assist in the design and preparation of construction drawings for various mechanical projects. The Engineer-in-Training will work closely under the supervision of a Professional Engineer, contributing to engineering calculations, drafting, and coordination of multiple engineering disciplines. This role requires a general knowledge of engineering principles, ability to read and interpret plans, required design software knowledge, as well as strong communication, technical writing skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and preparation of construction drawings for a variety of mechanical projects using Revit and other related software
  • Perform engineering calculations, interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Work with multiple engineering disciplines and perform drafting/CADD work
  • Conduct site visits to gather data, including measurements, sketches, notes, and photographs, as needed
  • Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for review and approval
  • Review and approve shop drawings and ensure that they meet project requirements
  • Read and interpret technical documents necessary for job performance
  • Consult and coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as required to ensure project success
  • Attend bi-weekly (or more frequent, as necessary) meetings with the project team to discuss project progress and tasks
  • Ensure that all projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements and operate within specified budget parameters
  • Complete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting project scope
  • Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization targets
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Complete other duties as required or assigned

Education and/or Skills Required:

  • 0-2 Years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited Program

  • Good communication and technical writing skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Education and/or Work Experience Preferred:

  • Previous internships or work experience in the Engineering field.

Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to maintain required certifications

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
