KCI Technologies, Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA seeks a Transportation Engineer-in-Training to support the development of construction plans for transportation projects under supervision. You will perform calculations, interpret drawings, and assist with proposals.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering (ABET-accredited), familiarity with MicroStation/OpenRoads/AutoCAD, strong Word/Excel skills, and good written communication. An Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is preferred.

Transportation Engineer-in-Training

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of multiple construction plans for transportation projects under the supervision of a senior project engineer or project manager.
• Perform work involving conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment, including engineering calculations, interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications, and assistance with proposal preparation.
• Coordinate work of multiple engineering disciplines and perform drafting/CADD work for the project.
• Develop engineering reports, quantities and construction cost estimates.

Preferred Qualifications

• General knowledge and/or experience with MicroStation and OpenRoads.
• Good communication and technical writing skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, and NACTO standards.
• EIT certification preferred.

Education and Skills Required

• 0-2 years of experience.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
