Job summary
North Dakota Department of Transportation in Bismarck seeks a Transportation Engineer I to begin an engineering career focused on project evaluation, cost estimating, and technical reporting. You will work with District engineers, visit sites across the state, develop scoping reports, and prepare cost estimates and visuals using MicroStation and ArcGIS.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or closely related field.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Scoping Studies
- Visit project sites statewide to verify roadway characteristics and identify issues.
- Discuss potential improvements with District engineers and develop Scoping Reports.
- Develop cost estimates and visuals using MicroStation and ArcGIS.
- Coordinate with other divisions to review issues and determine recommendations.
- Assist with Special Programs & Funding Management.
- Keep up with changing technology, laws, strategic plans and management objectives.
- Gain experience aiding the Traffic Operations section.
