Job summary

EHRA Engineering in Houston, TX is seeking a Transportation Engineer I to support planning, design, and coordination of public infrastructure within designated TIRZ boundaries. You will assist in managing capital projects, review development proposals, and ensure compliance with regulations under supervision.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, 0–2 years of experience, familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and MS Office, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field required.
• 0–2 years of engineering experience (internships or co-ops in municipal/ transportation preferred).
• FE licensure preferred; valid TX driver's license may be required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, design, and implementation of TIRZ-funded infrastructure projects.
• Support design teams with plans, specs, estimates, and construction documents under supervision.
• Contribute to investigations and development of concepts to solve problems.
• Provide data and findings for technical reports and presentations.
• Coordinate with internal staff, consultants, and clients to meet project goals.
• Monitor progress and assist project manager with status updates.
