Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transportation EIT/Engineer to join its Transportation Business Group. You will collaborate with a team of project engineers on the detailed design of urban and rural roadway projects, developing mobility and safety plans and contributing to technical reports, cost estimates, and calculations.

Preferred candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree and are committed to HDR’s employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Proficient with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD; familiar with Highways and Roads software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and Autodesk InfraWorks/Civil3D.
• Active participation in HDR’s employee-owned culture is required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on detailed design of urban and rural roadway projects with project engineers.
• Develop plans for Mobility and Safety projects: TMPs, Traffic Control Plans, Signals, Pavement Marking and Signing.
• Assist with technical reports, quantities, cost estimates, specifications and calculations.
• Support other roadway design projects as needed; perform other duties as required.

In the role of Transportation EIT/Engineer, we'll count on you to:

• Work on a team with other project engineers on the detailed design of urban and rural roadway projects
• Take responsibility for plan development of Mobility and Safety projects, including but not limited to Transportation Management Plans, Traffic Control Plans, Traffic Signals, Pavement Marking Plans, and Signing and Delineation
• Provide assistance with the creation and submission of technical reports, quantities and cost estimates, specifications, and calculations
• Provide assistance with other roadway design projects and groups as needed
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
• PE license preferred. Candidates hired with their PE with be titled "Transportation Engineer" and candidates hired with their EIT will be titled "Transportation EIT"
• Able to develop designs using MicroStation, GEOPAK, or other transportation design software packages,
• Proficient with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
• Familiarity and demonstrated experience with Highways and Roads engineering software such as Open Roads Designer.
• MS Office experience
• Preference is given to local candidates
