Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join our Florida transportation team, working on roadway, drainage, multimodal, and public infrastructure projects for FDOT and local government clients across the state.

You will collaborate with project managers, designers, surveyors, environmental professionals, and agency representatives to deliver practical, cost-effective transportation solutions from concept through construction.

Qualifications

• EI certification or PE license depending on experience level.
• Experience with transportation, roadway, drainage, or municipal infrastructure projects.
• Working knowledge of FDOT standards and design practices.
• Experience with OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Preparing roadway, drainage, and transportation design plans.
• Developing calculations, quantities, estimates, and technical documentation.
• Coordinating with utilities, permitting agencies, and project stakeholders.
• Participating in field reviews, constructability evaluations, and quality control reviews.
• Assisting with proposal development and client support efforts.
