Job summary

Ohio Department of Transportation is seeking a professional engineer to independently develop transportation construction plans and lead design efforts at District 02, Bowling Green, OH. The role requires use of design software, strong teamwork, and a valid driver’s license for site travel.

Qualified candidates must hold a PE license in Ohio and demonstrate leadership with at least 12 months of supervisory experience or equivalent staff leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Licensed as Registered Professional Engineer by the Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors.
  • 12 months' experience as group or project leader providing work direction & training to engineers/technicians (or equivalent staff specialist) as noted.
  • Valid driver's license if operating a state vehicle to travel to project sites.

What You Will Do

  • A full position description will be provided at time of interview.
  • Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as group or project leader providing work direction & training to engineering technicians &/or lower-level engineers or 12 mos. exp. in conducting engineering related research (i.e., conducting engineering related research only applies to staff specialist positions); if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver’s license.
  • Or licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 2, 85642; if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver’s license.
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated registration.
