Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management with 3 years of transportation construction engineering experience.
• One year at the working level in a professional transportation construction engineering capacity (state incumbents).
• FE/EIT/PE licensure or NICET/LS licensure substitutions may apply for degree requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provide recommendations of policies and standards to Management.
• Administration, monitoring and oversight of consultant engineering firms.
• Develop and maintain cost data for design, construction, budgets, funding and expenditures.
• Prepare responses to changes, transfers, reassignments, or disposal of contract work.
• Prepare administrative reports and conduct report writing.
• Supervise staff and perform field visits when required.
• Serve as technical advisor for construction projects.
• Review contracts for conformance with latest specifications.
• Collect, record, and analyze data for plans and specifications.
• Act as liaison with operating units, agencies, consultants and external officials.
